The following is an audio clip of Ergun Caner mentioning a supposed verse in the Qur’an of “Allah has no son”:
In simple terms, what Ergun “recited” is made up nonsense with no meaning whatsoever. It does not even sound like Arabic.
The peculiar thing here is that a verse which actually states that God does not beget and neither is he begotten is from a universally memorised Surah of the Qur’an. This is called Surah Al Ikhlas which is the 112th Chapter:
|Qul Huwa Al-Lahu 'Aĥad||112.001 Say: He is Allah, the One!||قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَد|
|Alllahu Aş-Şamad||112.002 Allah, the eternally Besought of all!||اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ|
|Lam Yalid Wa Lam Yūlad||112.003 He begetteth not nor was begotten.||لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ|
|Walam Yakun Lahu Kufūan 'Aĥad||112.004 And there is none comparable unto Him.||وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَه ُُ كُفُواً أَحَد|
This also suggests that Ergun has not actually had an Islamic upbringing as he claims. To not know Surah Al Ikhlas is a very serious issue, there are many non-Muslims who were merely brought up in an area of Muslims and they know things like the Shahada, Surah Al Ikhlas and many of the common Arabic phrases universally used by Muslims. Funnily though, we have a man here claiming to be an ex Muslim who does not know anything, and makes up for his ignorance by uttering gibberish to fool people, truly amazing.
